Charmaine Spykers-Hughes | Remedial Massage Therapist, Admin
After completing my Diploma in Remedial Massage I spent 2 years focusing on the massage in the fitness area in the northern suburbs.
Previous to obtaining my massage diploma I spent 30 years in Office Administration and Finance, and found that I needed to move more for a better life. I got into outdoor fitness which lead me to study Personal Training. From there I noticed a need in my clients that to train effectively they need a whole body approach. This lead to me completing my diploma in Remedial Massage in 2017. From there I worked in the fitness industry and private practice up until Dec 2019 where my family and I took a tree change to the beautiful Barossa Valley.
The techniques I use during massage treatment depend on patient requirements and include Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, Myofascial Release, Muscle Energy Techniques and Exercise Prescription.
In my Personal Training I have been accredited with the Strength for Life program run by COTA. I have a keen interest in keeping our ageing population active and mobile.
Outside of work I have a keen interest in the youth Musical Theatre industry where my daughter performs, bush walking and enjoying time away in our caravan.
