Functional Capacity Evaluations

Evidence has linked appropriate pre-employment / ready to work screenings to reduced workplace injury rates.

While improper screenings have been shown to provide little to no benefit in reducing injury risk, Tanunda Physiotherapy uses assessment tools proven to be effective in identifying people with increased risk of injury. All screenings are conducted and interpreted specifically in relation to the duties of the job to further enhance the reliability of recommendations.

Pre-Employment Screening

  • assess potential employees physically suitability for a role
  • ensures capability to perform duties safely, efficiently and effectively
  • reduce the risk of injury
  • reduce  disruption to work productivity and associated costs of workplace injury
  • essential information when selecting candidates during the recruitment process

Ready to Work Screening

  • assess current employees
               - returning to work following a layoff (injury, illness, extended leave of absence)
               - prior to a change in role (including increased working hours), or
               - as part of an ongoing worksite injury prevention strategy.
  • reduce the risk of injury
  • use to develop an appropriate work conditioning program to allow for safe transition to work
  • reduce  disruption to work productivity and associated costs of workplace injury

Pre-Employment/Ready to Work Screenings may be conducted at the Tanunda Physiotherapy clinic, or arrangements can be made for this to be done on site.

You may provide a screening tool that your company utilises, or we can apply an appropriate screen to meet your needs. All screenings will be accompanied by a report outlining the findings of screening.

A thorough understanding of the specific role requirements is necessary to maximise the relevance of the screen. We have access to a standardised Job Dictionary for many professions (including the Wine Industry) which can be used to assist in this.
