Your massage at Tanunda Physio & Health may include one or a combination of the following dependant on your needs:

Remedial Massage
Specialised techniques to locate and repair tissue. These treatments are tailored to each client and can be gentle or strong, deep or shallow to achieve the desired result.

Sports Massage
Tailored to sporting injuries and ailments, sports massage may be for anyone from the casual exerciser to the elite sportsperson. Designed to prevent and relieve injuries associated with exercise, help increase endurance and performance as well as reduce recovery time. Sports massage may be used pre or post event or as part of a high intensity training blocks.

Deep Tissue Massage
Focuses on the deeper layers of muscle fibres, and uses a specific pressure along the muscle to loosen up muscle tension, releasing toxins and encouraging blood and oxygen to circulate. Deep tissue massage can be used for a variety of sports injuries and chronic pain conditions.

Relaxation Massage
Relaxation massage applies varying pressure techniques to muscles in the direction of flow of blood returning to the heart. It is relaxing and invigorating. It is beneficial to reduce stress, both emotional and physical, and can be part of an ongoing maintenance program.

Lymphatic Drainage
Lymphatic drainage is a gentle, rhythmical treatment performed by a specially trained lymphatic massage therapist to stimulate the circulation of lymph fluid around the body. This helps to rapidly speed up the removal of wastes and toxins and can aid in the reduction of swelling after injury or surgery and provide a boost to your immune system.

Myofascial Release
Myofascia is tissue surrounding and supporting the muscles throughout your body. Myofascial release focuses on reducing pain by easing the tension and tightness within the myofascia and is often used over a broad area of muscle and tissue rather than at single points.

Muscle Energy Techniques
Muscle Energy Technique (MET) is a manual therapy that uses gentle muscle contractions of the patient to relax and lengthen muscles and normalise joint motion. It can be applied safely to almost any area of the body and is used by people with reduced mobility and by athletes as part of injury prevention.

Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger points are hypersensitive, tightened areas in muscles become acute sources of pain that can affect muscle length and refer pain if left untreated. Treatment involves a deep sustained pressure on the trigger points and stretching.
